Jason has a rich history in the working in Alaska. At a young age, he began working for the Alaska Railroad. He worked for several years as a baggage agent, operating forklifts and keeping baggage operations running smoothly. During his early years at the Railroad, he completed his B.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Alaska-Anchorage. After the completion of his degree he transitioned into train operations as a Conductor and Locomotive Engineer. After five years of train operation he became an Operations Manager in 2002. He was in charge of logistics operations in the Anchorage area then eventually the entire rail-line operations as Senior Operations Manager. He held this position until retiring from the AKRR in 2014 and transitioned into financial planning.
Jason, along with his team, started Vision Financial to fulfill his passion of helping others achieve financial stability and success. He enjoys coaching people to make sound decisions so they can make their financial dreams and goals become reality. He takes time in analyzing his clients’ options in a logistical manner to find out which platforms of investments are best suited to set them up for future financial stability. The services he offers include various forms of life insurance, as well as education investments, retirement and extended care plans.
Jason and his wife, Tania, were both raised in Alaska with families that fostered in them a love for the outdoors. Jason grew up in South Anchorage where he was actively involved in his local community through sports and community events.
Today, his personal mission in the community is financial education. Jason has taught financial health courses to over 270 members in his local community through church programs. He remains involved in sports through recreational hockey and as the President of the Chugiak-Eagle River Nordic Ski Club. He volunteers as a ski coach and helps orchestrate local race events. Jason and his wife have two children with whom they enjoy spending time with in Alaska’s great outdoors.
